Extracts from discussion
- Equipment purchasing.
There was a decision to make procurement tender for each partner country separately. Ukrainian and Russian universities will receive necessary equipment for the remote security laboratory access. BTH is going to organize tenders if the regional coordinators send all the necessary documents from commercial companies to the BTH financial staff. The tenders should be completed in June.
- Cofinancing.
Partners discussed their possibilities to make a cofinancing of the equipment purchasing, salary and costs of stay payment, etc. Some universities have prepared the documents concerning their contribution. For example, Kaliningrad State Technical University and Blekinge Institute of Technology. The project coordinator recommended doing a cofinancing during all the period of the project realization, not to leave this till the last months.
- Teacher training
The process of collecting the information about the candidates who are willing to be trained has already been started. The partners agreed that each university should suggest teachers with the indication of the priority teacher-course till the end of May. The training will start from the remote part; teachers will review the course materials. The course managers will make a decision about the time and place of the real life training till the middle of July. Teachers have a possibility to meet the course developers and discuss the teaching materials during two days of the training.
- Summer schools
The summer school should be organized during summer 2016. The universities’ representatives talked about expectations concerning a participation of their students. The suggestion was to organize summer school in two locations: in Saint-Petersburg-Russia (July) and Latvia/Ukraine (August). The courses for study should be also divided into two groups. The approximate amount of credits for summer school is four credits. Partners have an idea about inviting the bachelors (not only masters) to join the summer school.
- Bilateral agreement on future double diploma
Dariusz Caban, the representative of Wroclav University of Technology, suggested organizing a connection between each two particular universities. Dariusz shared the example of bilateral agreement. The partners need to sign the memorandum of co-operation between universities and the agreement about double diploma (supplementary annex to the memorandum). Each university should provide a contact person who is responsible for the cooperation between universities.
- Dissemination
Partners were informed that they need to organize the informational days for university staff and for students. The university staff should be aware of project status and plans to implement courses into the master program. During the informational day students should get the information about summer school. Partners suggested organizing two informational days for students: autumn 2015 and spring 2016. The informational day for students could be an element of bigger event, for example, IT Security conference at the university. All the marketing materials for distribution including flyers, poster and presentation should be ready till the autumn 2015.
The meeting participants considered the idea of the student skill competition. The decision is to organize the competition during the summer school. There are two possible options. The first option is to create an advanced level of lab in each course and to give students to do these labs, counting the time for decision. The second option is to invite an industry company for organizing a game in IT security sphere.
All the remote meeting decisions will be used for preparing the midterm project report. Partners agreed about the necessity to make some re-planning of the project activities time frame.
